BARNETT, Elmer C. (1922 - 2005)

Elmer C. Barnett, 82, Archie, MO, passed away Saturday, June 18, 2005, at Research Medical Center surrounded by family. Service will be 1 p.m. Thursday, June 23, 2005, at The Park Lawn Chapel. Burial in Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may call Wednesday from 7-8:30 p.m. at the chapel. In lieu of flowers the family suggests contributions to The American Lung Association. He was born in Kansas City, MO, on August 7, 1922 to Frank and Ora (Streight) Barnett. He served with the Army's 75th Infantry Division in Europe during World War II. He was a 51 year member of the Asbestos Workers' Local 27. He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Lloyd, Eddie and Harry; and one sister, Jewel. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Janie; sons Wylie Barnett and wife, Marla of Kansas City, MO, and Randy Barnett of Blue Springs, MO; daughters Jan Pieratt of Warsaw, MO, and Gayle Quigley and husband Brian of Kansas City, MO; along with 10 grandchildren, Stephanie Buhler, Kim Carpenter, Scott Barnett, Randy Barnett, Jana Orem-Loughlin, Jennifer Streeby, Cassidy Barnett, Jeffrey Quigley, Joey Quigley, and Jared Quigley and four great-grandchildren, Lucas Carpenter, Lauren Carpenter, Branden Buhler and Cameron Buhler. He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather and will be dearly missed.
