BURRIS, Iva Fenton (1889 - 1915)

OBITUARY - Mrs. Iva Fenton Burris was born in the vicinity of Burdett, August
17, 1889. At the age of 21 years she was united in marriage to Charles Burris.
She was converted in her girl-hood and united with the Presbyterian Church,
Sharon; in which faith she did live until the Lord called her home, October 9th,
1915. She was survived by her husband, two sisters, one brother, other relatives
and a host of friends. Her remains were laid to rest in the Burdette cemetery,
Rev. Showalter officiating.
BURRIS, Joseph Eden (1924 - 2007)

Joseph Eden Burris, 83, passed away peacefully in his sleep on Monday, Nov. 26,
2007, at Webb City Health and Rehabilitation, Webb City, Mo., where he had lived
the past 15 months. He was born Sept. 11, 1924, in Nevada, to Charles Thomas
Burris and Nora Lee Buzzard Burris, He married Bertha D. Collins, on Jan. 24,
1947, in Nevada, and she preceded him in death in 1998. Joe was reared in Nevada
and spent most of his life here. He retired from Nevada State Hospital in 1984
after 20 years of service. Survivors include four daughters, Lorna Steelman,
Kodiak, Ark., Diana Tidwell, Federal Heights, Colo., Donna Clark, Independence,
Mo., and Kelly (Debra) Mayfield, Webb City; 12 grandchildren, 14
great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild, and several close nieces and
nephews. In addition to his wife Bertha, he was preceded in death by one son,
Carl Wesley Burns; one granddaughter, April Davis; two sisters, Lillie Mae
McClure and Bertha Edna Bayne, and eight brothers, Earl Clifford Burris, Claud
Douglas Burris, Arthur Lilburn Burris, Charles Lee Burris, Harry Edward Burris,
David Everett Burris, Thomas Eugene Burris, and James Paul Burris. Memorial
services will be held at 10 a.m., on Friday, Nov. 30, at Ferry Funeral Home,
Nevada. Friends may call now and until the hour of service.
