GARRIS, Ruby Mildred (1912 - 1992)

Ruby Mildred Jackson Lewis Garris - Ruby Mildred Jackson Garris, 79, Butler, Mo., died Jan. 3, 1992 at the Willow Lane Nursing Center in Butler. She was born Aug. 10, 1912 west of Passaic, Bates County, Mo. to Alexander Marshell and Minnie Alice Cook. She spent 45 years in Arizona as an owner and operator of a motel, moving back to Butler in 1972 to care for her mother.  She was married to Tommie F. Lewis Oct. 17, 1940. He died Aug. 1, 1972. On March 29, 1982 she married Gay Garris. She was also preceded in death by an infant brother, Alex Jackson and her parents. She leaves her husband of the home and many other relatives. Graveside funeral services were held Jan. 5 at the Adam Howell Cemetery near Virginia, Mo., with the Rev. Larry Heenan officiating. Memorials may be made to the Amsterdam Baptist Church. Arrangements were by Mangold Funeral Home.
