HAZELTON, Leonard Owen (1937 - 2006)

Leonard Owen Hazelton, 69, Nevada, Mo., passed away on Monday, July 31, 2006, at St. John's Regional Medical Center, Joplin, Mo., following an illness of several months. He was born Feb. 1, 1937, in Augusta, Maine, to Eugene and Mary Hazelton. Leonard was reared in Maine, one of nine children. He came to Nevada in 1987. He worked as a truck driver all of his working life. Survivors include one daughter, Mabel Louise Hazelton, Southern California; one sister, Olive Roe Veltri, Spokane, Wash.; two brothers, Edward Hazelton, Oroville, Calif., Jerry Hazelton, state of Maine; and one niece, Tina Marie Myers, Dederick, Mo. He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister, and four brothers. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m., Friday, Aug. 11, at Ferry Funeral Home, Nevada, with John Nichols officiating. Interment wil follow at Newton Burial Park in Nevada. Friends may call now and until the hour of service at the funeral home.
