Darwin Dean Jones - October 31, 1926 - January 20, 2009. Funeral services for Darwin Jones will be 2 p.m. Friday, January 23, 2009 at Schowengerdt Funeral Chapel (660-679-6555) in Butler, Missouri with Rev. James Stanfield-Myers officiating. Visitation, prior to services from 1-2 p.m. at Schowengerdt Chapel. Burial, Appleton City Cemetery, Appleton Cemetery, Missouri. Contributions, Ohio Street United Methodist Church or Appleton City Cemetery. Darwin Dean Jones, age 82 of Butler, Missouri died Tuesday, January 20, 2009 at St. Luke's Hospital in Kansas City, Missouri. He was born October 31, 1926 to John Calvin and Nellie Ray Jones in Deepwater, Missouri. Darwin is survived by his wife, Arma Lee Jones of Butler, Missouri; one brother, Dale Jones and wife Eva of Peculiar, Missouri; one sister, Nadine Bartimus and husband Carol of Clinton, Missouri; a sister-in-law, Kathryn Jones of Appleton City, Missouri; and nephews and nieces. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Don and Robert; and an infant brother J.W.

JONES, David J. (1831 - 1906)

DAVID JONES DEAD - David Jones died at his home four miles east of Adrian on Monday, February 26th, 1906, aged 75 years and 14 days.
David Jones was born in Kentucky and grew to manhood in his native state. He was married in early manhood to Miss Sarah McCombs, who survives him, to this union three children were born, two of whom are living. He had been a faithful member of the Baptist Church for about forty years and died in the faith. He was a good man, loved and respected by all who knew him. Funeral services were held at Altona, Wednesday, conducted by Dr. Wright, and the remains laid to rest in the cemetery at that place.

J.W. "Red" Jones, 68, of Adrian, Mo., passed away November 8, 2008. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Tues., Nov. 11 at Atkinson Chapel, Adrian. Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Mon., Nov. 10 at the chapel. Burial in Crescent Hill Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Heartland Hospice, Butler, Mo.

Jan (Tourtillott) Jones, 52, of Kansas City, MO, formerly of Rich Hill, MO, passed away May 7, 2009. Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, May 12, at 2 p.m., at the Heuser Funeral Home in Rich Hill; burial will be in the Green Lawn Cemetery, Rich Hill. The family will receive friends Monday, 7-8 p.m., at the Funeral Home. The family suggests memorial contributions to the Jan Jones Memorial Fund in c/o Heuser Funeral Home. She is survived by her son Robert Heuser, Lee's Summit, MO; her mother, Lois Tourtillott, Butler, MO; sisters Vicki and Cliff Norris, Kansas City, MO, and Willa Sue and Danny Breckenridge, Rich Hill, MO; and her brother Lennie and Sharon Tourtillott, Rich Hill, MO. JONES, Larry Dale (1950 - 2006)

Larry Dale Jones, the son of Howard Haskel and Esta (Bennett) Jones, was born on Sept. 28, 1950, in Wagoner, Okla., and passed away on Aug. 29, 2006, at his home, at 55 years of age. Larry was a long-time resident of the Vernon County area. He graduated high school in 1969. He was united in marriage to Valerie Mae Salkil on June 13, 1975, in Topeka, Kan. Larry worked as a brick mason the majority of his life and much of his hard work is evident all around the area. He was also a member of the Calvary Baptist Church in Nevada. Survivors include his wife, Valerie of the home, Mr. and Mrs. Christopher Jones of Nevada, Matt Jones and Auna of El Dorado Springs, Mo., Melissa Jones and Eric of Fort Myers, Fla., Mr. and Mrs. Larry Dale Jones Jr. of Nevada, Mr. and Mrs. Jesse Jones of Bronaugh, Mo.; Daniel, David, Whitney and Jonathan Jones of the home; seven grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; two sisters and one brother. Funeral services were held at 3 p.m., Friday, Sept. 1, at Evergreen Memorial Chapel, with Terry Mosher officiating. Burial was in Newton Burial Park, Nevada. The visitation was prior to the service at 2 p.m., at Evergreen Memorial Chapel.

JONES, Sarah E. McCombs (1838 - 1919)

MRS. SARAH JONES DEAD - Mrs. Sarah Jones died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Jennie Kennedy of Kansas City, November 11th, 1919; aged 80 years, 2 months and 29 days. Sarah McCombs was born in Kentucky August 11, 1838, and was united in marriage with David Jones in 1857. In 1869 they moved to Bates county, where Mr. Jones died twelve years ago. One child, Mrs. Kennedy, survives, an a number of grandchildren, Col. Wm. Haggard one  Mound City, Kansas, being one of them. Mrs. Jones joined the Baptist Church early in life and remained a faithful member of same until her death. Besides her daughter she is survived by two brothers, Col. Jeff McCombs of Adrian, and Samuel McCombs of Arthur, Kentucky, and one sister, Mrs. …

JONES, William Dean  (?? - 2008)

William “Dean” Jones died March 3, 2008, at his home in Harrisonville. Visitation was from 7 to 8:30 p.m. March 6 at the Dickey Funeral Home, Harrisonville. Services are at 2 p.m. March 7 at the Antioch Southern Baptist Church, Harrisonville, with burial in Crescent Hill Cemetery near Adrian, under the direction of the Dickey Funeral Home, Harrisonville.
