MINTON, John Thompson (1834 - 1913)

John Thompson Minton Dead - John Thompson Minton died at the home of George Crooks in Charlotte township at 8:30 Tuesday morning, of Bright’s disease and other complications. Deceased was born in Tennessee 78 years ago and had lived in Bates county for over 50 years. Mr. Minton had been married twice and is survived by a widow and three children. Funeral services conducted by Rev. Postin at the Crooks residence Wednesday morning at 10 o’clock. Interment in Adam Howe cemetery.

MINTON, Sarah L. (1842 - 1919)

Mrs. Sarah Minton Dead - Mrs. Sarah Minton, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Robert Stanley on Dakota street in this city about four o’clock Monday morning, after a long illness. Mrs. Minton was born in Scott county, Illinois, on September 1st 1842, and has for
many years lived near Virginia. She was a most lovable lady and has done many kind acts for which she will be remembered by her friends and neighbors. Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at three o’clock, conducted from the home of Mrs. Stanley. Burial took place in the Adam Howe cemetery about ten miles northwest of Butler.
