PETERMAN, James Allen (1926 - 2007)

James Allen Peterman was born Oct. 12, 1926, in Rich Hill, Mo., to Charles and Josephine Peterman, and departed this life on May 25, 2007, at the age of 80. He was a lifelong resident of the Rich Hill area. He is survived by his wife, Wanda, of 59 years; son Jerry and wife Bonnie of Lee's Summit, Mo.; son Terry and wife Sara, of Nevada; daughter Sheila and husband Jess Burrous, of Amsterdam, Mo.; son Kevin and wife Nancy, of Nevada; brother Charles and wife Beverly, of Nevada, and half-brother Louis Dungan and wife Linda, of Nevada; four grandchildren, six stepgrandchildren, four great-grandchildren and two stepgreat-grandchildren. He was an active, lifelong member of St. Bridget's Catholic Church. He served in the United States Army in World War II in the South Pacific and in Europe. He was a proud member of American Legion Post No. 67. Upon discharge he worked for Missouri Pacific Railroad and Special Lens factory in Butler. He retired from 3M in Nevada, after 11 years of service. Jim's favorite pastimes were woodworking and polishing his cars. After retirement, he and Wanda enjoyed camping in Branson and visiting local attractions. He was preceded in death by his parents and one grandson, Jonathon Peterman. Mass of Christian Burial was held at 10 a.m., today, at St. Bridget's Catholic Church, with the Rev. Joseph Powers officiating. Music was by Scott Theis and Mary Elsensohn. Casketbearers were Jeff Post, Brian Ast, Kenny Kassner, George Parker, Joe Boyes and Bob Schlyer. Interment was in Green Lawn Cemetery, Rich Hill, with military rites by Rich Hill American Legion Post No. 67.

Roy Peterman, Jr., 87, of Gladstone, Mo., died Wednesday, July 22, 2009, at his home. Private family services. Memorial contributions to the American Heart Association . Roy was born Feb. 25, 1922, in Rich Hill, Mo. He retired from Kenworth Dart. He was a member of North Cross United Methodist Church, a 50 year member of Ivanhoe Lodge #446 AF &AM, life member of 32nd degree of the Scottish Rite and the Ararat Shrine Temple of Kansas City, Mo. Roy is survived by his wife of 57 years, Barbara Weathers Peterman, of the home; daughter, Karen Maupin and son- in-law Alan; son, Dennis Peterman; and grandchildren, Emily and Gabriel Maupin and Jennifer Peterman.
