RAMSELL, William Roger (1942 - 2008)

William Roger “Bill” Ramsell, 66, Schell City, the son of William Howard and Jessie Lee (Mace) Ramsell, was born Sept. 30, 1942, in Liberty, and passed from this life on Tuesday, Oct. 7, 2008, at the Centerpoint Hospital”– Kansas City. Bill retired from Carter Waters after 27-years of service. During that time he was a member of Laborers #663 and Teamsters #541. Bill and his wife, Pat, were married March. 1, 1968, in Miami, OK, and retired to the Schell City area in 1998. In his early years, Bill was an avid lover of dirt track racing. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and loved being in the woods hunting for mushrooms. In the past several years he never missed a NASCAR race. He was a member of the Advent Lutheran Church. Survivors include his wife of 40-years, Patricia Ramsell, of the home in Schell City; two sons, Garry Ramsell and family – Paola, KS, and William “Billy” Ramsell”– Schell City; one daughter, Dena Stoneking and family – Buckner; one sister, Karen Ramsell – Liberty; five grandchildren, three great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and many friends that will miss him greatly. Aside from his parents, Bill was preceded in death by his sister, Sandra Ramsell. Graveside services with interment were held Saturday, Oct. 11, in the Green Lawn Cemetery – Schell City, with Bro. David Souza officiating. Pallbearers were Ken Davis, Deanna Marlow, Hank Layton, Michael Williams, Rick Marlow and Daniel Ogle. Honorary pallbearers were Ed McCannon, Stan Layton, Clarence Conwell and Sgt. Sean McCannon. Memorial Contributions are suggested to the Kansas City Cancer Center or the Schell City Volunteer Fire Department. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to the Lewis-Hoagland Funeral Home – Schell City.
