Jim was born September 22, 1941 in Harrisonville, MO, the son of James Logan and
Lora Levon (Goddard) Sutton. He married Lavonne Limpus on October 16, 1960 at
the Archie Methodist Church in Archie. To this union two sons were born, Jeffrey
D. and Johnny L. Sutton. Jim worked for Bendix Corp. and other companies until
1969 at which time his father and mother-in-law, Lyle and Ruby Limpus, asked him
to come to work for them at Limpus Quarries, where he worked until 1982. He then
decided to start his own business, Sutton Trucking, Inc. He retired in 2005 and
his sons, Johnny and Jeffrey now operate the family business. Jim loved to
travel; he took his granddaughter to Africa and his grandson to Alaska and all
over the United States. He enjoyed his trips to Texas in the winter and the many
friends he made. He enjoyed fishing and trucking. Jim was preceded in death by
his father, James L. Sutton and his mother and father-in-law, Lyle and Ruby
Limpus. He is survived by his wife, Lavonne, of the home; his mother, Lora Levon
Sevy, Adrian, MO; two sons, Jeff Sutton and his son, Cody, Archie, MO and Johnny
Sutton and his wife, Robin and their daughter, Jessica, Drexel, MO; two

and friends after being diagnosed with cancer was, life is short, enjoy every
minute to the fullest; hold your family close; every minute is precious and take
time to smell the roses. “To live in hearts we leave behind -- is not to die.”
